I Just Can’t Live Without You

You know those amazeville items in your beauty cabinet that you can always rely on day in and day out to make you feel your best and get the job done? I have tried every brand known to man and here is my short list from make-up to skin products and hair products. I hope that this help you, and if you have suggestions please let me know what I missed. I am always looking to try something new and super!

My first product on the list is Lip Smackers Dr. Pepper Lip Balm. This stuff is “The Balm.” Hee hee. I have been using this lip balm since I was in High School, it tastes just like Dr. Pepper!!! And to top it off, it makes your dull, lifeless pink lips a pretty sheer red hue. I can’t stop licking my lips! I don’t mean to, but I have been told that it turns men on, which is a plus, plus, plus! The smell is the best too, just like Dr. Pepper!

I LOVE Big Fatty Mascara by Urban Decay. It says exactly what it is going to do right on the tube! Urban Decay makes such amazing QUALITY products, and this Mascara is beyond LUXURIOUS! Here’s my trick to perfect lashes…….. I first apply one coat of Big Fatty to my lashes. Then I apply one coat of DIORSHOW, Black Out 099… this is very black and clumpy. Only one coat. Then after that one coat of Dior, apply one more coat of Big Fatty. When applying the Big Fatty, comb through the lashes spreading them, for a natural look. The Big Fatty Mascara will balance out the heaviness of the DIORSHOW. Voila! Perfect black lashes!

For an Office/day to Date/ nite quick change look I look no further than Urban Decay Heavy Metal Eye Liner in Gold Glitter. This is such a fun product! You really can dress up your face with this eye liner. It goes on super smooth, no clumps and stays on all nite. You will feel like a human disco ball with this on your eyes, you will love it… And your eyes will catch all sorts of light rays, it’s really cool.

I think that some of the BEST eye shadows go to SmashBox…they really stay on all day, and the colors are really intense. The little pots are made of quality plastic so they are durable… and the lids screw on making them hard to break. I really like the color range; it is wearable and easy to apply for non- make-up artist types… normal women like me. Don’t get me wrong, MAC is fantastic but I feel you almost have to be pro to get it right. SmashBox is sooo wearable. I love their shadows!

My favorite Lip Gloss is Urban Decay Pocket Rocket Lip Gloss in Eric. This color is so sheer, and looks great over all shades of lipsticks and lipliners. It really transforms the color that you are applying it too… it is soo cool! The consistency is thick and stays on for hours. I really like to apply it over my lip liner for a “dramatically sheer” look.

The best Eye and Lip Liners are by MAC. With the textures creamy, it glides on super smooth and stays on as long as you don’t rub oil on your eyes or eat at the Olive Garden. The colors are FAB too. This is some quality stuff. The best part is that you can sharpen the pencil and the color never breaks!!! This has never happened with a MAC pencil. Hands down the best.

When I am feeling not so Californian, super dull and drab, I touch up my tresses with Nice ‘n Easy Born Blonde by Clairol. This hair dye is beyond easy to use, and never leaves your locks orange… only costs around $12 bucks!

Still the best, cheapest Hairspray around…… AquaNet!!! Gotta love the cheesy 1960’s packaging, and the same smell that has been around for years! It still has the same rock hard hold. Pro stylists use it too. I feel like I am in the know using this spray!

For an all year round tan, to hide my spider/ varicose veins, stretch marks, and total imperfections I look no further than Sally Hansen Air Brush Legs. All of Hollywood uses this amazing product to look tan. It really is a miracle in a bottle… it will make you look 10 pounds thinner.

Neutrogena’s Rapid Clear 2 in 1 Fight & Fade Gel is great on unexpected breakouts, blackheads, and getting rid of overnight blemishes. You can feel this gel working!

Lately the people closest to me have commented how “rested” I have been looking…. Little do they know that I owe it all to this product…. Dior Snow D-NA Reverse Night Eye Gel. this is not cheap, it will set you back about $100 bucks, but it really works if you stick with it. If you don’t have to wear make-up during the day, I suggest wearing it whenever you can. It bleaches your under- eyes and really gets rid of any imperfections. A little goes a LOOOONG way. My suggestion… buy it duty- free if you can.

The Best Red EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SmashBox True Red Rocks this one!!! It is really creamy and looks great on any skin tone, hair color, what ever your look is that day, it is very versatile. It is a blue/ red… not brown red so it really works well as an everyday red. I have had this lipstick FOREVER. I love it.

For the perfect cat-eye on a budget I rely on Almay’s Liquid Liner in Black. It stays on all day, and has a fantastic precision , easy to use felt tip pen with pot. I have been using this liner for at least 10 years, it is great and a mainstay in my make-up bag! I am sooo glad the Cat-eye is making a fashion comeback!

How old- school is this product??? I can’t believe I still use this!!! This is from my Junior High School Daze but it is a 99Cent Warrior, and worth every penny if you use it right. Wet and Wild Cover All #001 is GREAT!!!!! You need to apply it with a light hand, use it on the right skin tone and blend well! Even if you mix it with blush, eyeshadow this makes for a good creamy base for other products…. A good cheap base!

For a Celebrity Look I use SmashBox Photo- Op Under Eye Brightener. This product instantly refreshes my under eyes and makes me feel like I look a few years young in photos. I just don’t know how they nailed it with so many products at SmashBox!!!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Glamour…. Nothing says Glamour than (dragqueen) GLAMOUR fake eyelashes!!!! I recommend going into Chinatown a picking up some lashes… they are budget, and the best! JapanTown, KoreaTown also has a great assortment too. I am really lucky, I just buy them by the boat load when I am in China but for pennies on the dollar, you can get then for really inexpensively. Here is a great assortment that I bought in ChinaTown for Five Dollars, much less than one pair at the local drugstore, and they come with adhesive. Applying them is the trick, but wearing them is all the fun!!!
