Photo Shoot Style

A really great outlet for my creativity has become styling for fashion photography. I love being able to show my vision of how the clothing should be worn and accessorized, and I really enjoy collaborating with the photographer, model and glam team. I play off of others' ideas and push myself out of my comfort zone. It is a really great opportunity to be hyper-creative, and show how fun fashion really can be. I love to showcase other aspects of my design aesthetic through the photos. It doesn't have to be just about boho glamour which I am best known for. I love to show my bohemian customer that you can also be edgy, ultra sexy, playful and even a little bit tomboy. Here I chose some of my favorite images from recent photo shoots that I am very proud of. I hope you enjoy them as much enjoyed creating!

Cheers! Meghan Fabulous.

I had so much fun on this "Goth Sex Punk" photo shoot! Putting the looks together I was able to experiment and really delve into the world of BDSM and the fashion that embodies that lifestyle. It was even more taboo having a very young, extremely innocent looking model. This look was a complete departure from anything she had ever done and I am so happy with the outcome of the photos. You can really see all the wardrobe details in the photos, with the on-point hair and makeup completing the dramatic look.

Here, I was inspired by the "Power Dressing" era in the early 1980's where a new kind of Female Worker entered the typical masculine environment doing a new style of "uniform" that would help gain respect and power in the workplace. This "uniform" resembled common men's wear, often conservative with big, padded broad shoulders and knee length skirts. I took this concept and put a glitzy yet sarcastic spin on it with a glamorous gold Gucci trench coat, complete with a fem inspired coffee cup and sprinkled donut.

I love details. I think there are so many bold, interesting colors and textures in everyday, common place items. Even when I am shopping at the dime store- I can't help but to be inspired by all of the interesting things I want to throw in my cart. Here I styled a photo series of normal, everyday items with a FABULOUS twist. Vibrant colors are highlighted and accentuated with dazzling accessories- a satorical play on the whole concept of glamour meets basic bitch.

I absolutely love California, and have been blessed to live in L.A. for most of my life. An Angeleno through and through, I draw so much inspiration from the rich history, cultures, people, food and geography that make up this magical city. In "The City Girl" series, I wanted to focus on the young, struggling starlet, and give a sneak peek into what her everyday life would be like as she navigates her way through the difficult, gritty world of Hollywood.

Going into this photo shoot, I really had no direction or plan as to what the looks would be. It wasn't until I saw photos of this Model that I knew I instantly wanted to showcase the Model's natural and Striking South East Asian beauty. I looked at her and saw a Princess. I was inspired to continue this theme mixing traditional Asian pieces with Vintage Designer Couture to create a look of a "Modern Bohemian Princess."
